OUR STATEMENT

Coronavirus Update

We are delighted to say that we will be able to take bookings from now onwards, with limitations on the numbers of rooms that are available. There will be hand sanitiser both outside, and inside the main door, which you will be asked to use, and we ask you to also bring one with you, and carry it at all times.

We have always taken a great deal of time and trouble to make sure everything is as clean as possible, but this will become of even greater importance to ensure that there is no transmission of the virus in every way we can.

There will be hand santiser both outside, and inside the main door, which you will be asked to use, and we ask you to also bring one with you, and carry it at all times.  We have always taken a great deal of time and trouble to make sure everything is as clean as possible, but this will become of even greater importance to ensure that there is no transmission of the virus in every way we can.

All of the bed linen, including mattress, duvet & pillow protectors will be stripped, sealed and left for 72 hours before taking to the laundry. This will then be kept for 72 hours before handing back for use. All surfaces are normally cleaned with a biodegradable soap solution, but we will also use hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol to carry biodegradable products for extra cleaning. Because we have a septic tank, we need to be mindful of what is flushed down the drains. As we are leaving 72 hours between the use of rooms, any soft furnishings with possible contamination has sufficient time to break down.

All communal areas – doors etc, will be cleaned several times a day, as guests leave the building, and we ask guests to leave anything that they have used in a designated area, so that we are able to clean/quarantine it to make absolutely sure.

We will offer a slightly different format of our buffet Breakfast, which can be brought to your room if you would prefer to eat there or on your balcony outside, or you are welcome to eat it in the Breakfast room (we have a 3 metre table!), but we may ask you to stagger your breakfast times, in order to avoid other guests, or order the night before. We will still be supplying the wonderful local products that we have always showcased, but please bear with us, as not all suppliers are up and back to capacity at the moment. This feels very strange to us, as one of the best things about having guests is listening to everyone chatting and exchanging stories around the breakfast table, but needs must, so we ask for your support, so we can hopefully make your stay peaceful and relaxing.

We have plenty of outside space for you to enjoy – 12 acres of woodland walks, and lots of choices to sit – again, if you use cushions & blankets etc, we will ask to place them in a designated area so we can deal with them.

Finally – and actually, the most important point…. Please do not travel to Cornwall if you feel unwell. We know you must be desperate more than ever to have a break, but you will not only risk the possibility of spreading the virus to us, and other guests, but Cornwall has one hospital that is normally under pressure from summer visitors, and will simply not cope with an outbreak of Covid. If any guests show symptoms whilst staying, they will asked to stay in their rooms whilst a test is organised for them, and we will both liaise with the local health authority and operate current government guidelines. Please be aware that as the present advice stands, you will be asked to fund the extra stay should this be deemed necessary.

On arrival, we will leave some more information in your room about distancing, cleaning and contacting us for anything. However, if you have any questions/requests before you stay or book don’t hesitate to get in touch, and we do everything we can to help. You are welcome to request a copy of our risk assessment to be sent to you.
