BRINGING YOUR DOG ALONG WITH YOU
We have a dog ourselves, and rarely go anywhere without them!
We also stay in hotels with them, and know how important it is to feel happy and comfortable taking them with us. However, it is a relatively small place, so we don’t want to put off guests without dogs who will be upset by barking or whining. Therefore, we ask guests to arrange with us if they would like to bring a dog, so we can make sure everyone will be happy!
Our own dog can be nervous around certain dogs, particularly males, but they will simply take themselves off – providing your dog is on a lead and won’t follow them!
Dog House Rules: We ask that you keep your dog on a lead in and around the immediate building, and do not allow them on any furniture, especially beds or leave them alone in your room. If your dog is likely to bark at the slightest sound, then we will not be the place for you. If there is too much disturbance of other guests we will request that you take them off site (which has never happened yet). There are also a handful of locals who walk their dogs on and around the land so we need to make sure they will be sociable.
They also get their own little welcome pack from our dog, along with some handy beach guides and hopefully useful information.
We charge £20 per dog per stay.
WHAT’S ON OFFER
We will supply a bowl and a tray in your room, and probably a biscuit or two – if ours hasn’t eaten them all! We ask you not to leave dogs unattended in your room, or allow them on any of the furniture, especially beds and to keep them on a lead in and around the immediate building. We have 12 acres of unfenced land that borders farmland, common land and the village, including a large, unfenced pond, so if your dog is adventurous off the lead, we ask you to keep them on a lead near the pond, in the forest & vegetable gardens, and to just be aware that the central Sanctuary field is intended for quiet contemplation. There is also an outside shower with hot and cold water and plenty of towels for those post muddy walks!
THE PERFECT PLACE
THE PERFECT PLACE
The great thing about dog friendly Cornwall is that it is more unusual to find pubs that don’t accept dogs than do! Our own Fisherman’s Arms welcome them with open arms, and we can point you in the right direction for local dog friendly beaches, cafes and pubs. Ours love running on the sands that are exposed at low tide at Golant. There are also lots of wonderful walks in the area, and we are very happy to share our favourites with you. We also have some dog friendly guides to walks and beaches that you are welcome to borrow.
