YOU’RE SPOILT FOR CHOICE IN CORNWALL!

Quality produce always sourced as locally as possible gives you a great start to the day

We offer a Cornish continental breakfast, showcasing the very best of local produce. We normally offer this between 8am-10am, but are happy to be flexible if you can give us some notice! We try to source our food as locally as possible – bread is either from Quay Bakery, Baker Toms or Niles in Fowey. Our local Leyonne farm produces milk for Trewithen Diaries, so we use their butter, milk and yoghurt as much as possible, and they also supply us with a fantastic selection of local cheese. The coffee is from Olfactory coffee roasters in Falmouth and tea from the Tregothnan estate, also near Falmouth. We try to cater for all dietary needs, but would appreciate some advance notice, as sourcing products are not always straightforward and easy where we are! Cereals are from local suppliers Hugo’s Cereals made nearby, and we are trying to source our juice in glass bottles rather than cartons, and where possible from Cornish Apples. Occasionally, we have homemade bread .and preserves by Karen – we are developing a permaculture veg and fruit garden so that we will be able to offer more home grown produce in the future.

DURING YOUR STAY

Drinks and Biscuits

Tea (including herb teas) and coffee are provided in your room, and normally homemade cake or biscuits.

We now have a small fridge in the entrance hall for guest’s use, and we will leave fresh milk in individual glass bottles. We can also supply a cool box and ice packs on request.

Breakfast is served from 8-10am in the Breakfast Room. We are continuing to offer individually served breakfasts (rather than a buffet) either in the Breakfast Room or brought to your room, but we do ask you to order the night before. There will be forms on your bed on arrival. Keep an eye for the blackboard in the hall as their are quite often some ‘specials’ on offer, such as pancakes or muffins!

We are happy to prepare a simple packed lunch (an extra charge) if you would be kind enough to let us know the day before if possible.

We keep a small stock of most dietary requirements, but the more notice you can give us, the better!

EVENING MEALS

EVENING MEALS

Great local food

At the moment, we are not offering evening meals, as we know that Nick and the team at the Fisherman’s Arms, a short walk away, do such a good job! There are many good places to eat outside the village, and we are very happy to recommend places. We can send you a list of possible places in advance if you get in touch.

Please Note: unless you are booking the Barn Owl Suite, or the whole building, there is no facility to self cater.

However, we do have an outdoor kitchen with a gas barbecue, a wood fired pizza oven, and a charcoal firepit (with our own produced charcoal) There is also a double sink outside to wash up and cutlery and crockery in the barbecue shelter. This is for the shared us of guests.
