A SUITE WITH B&B OR SELF CATERING
Want a little more space or self catering overlooking the Fowey estuary?
When our spacious function room is not being used for courses or events it has been designed to convert to a large 9m x 6m open plan suite for self-catering. It has its own entrance, kitchen and bathroom and a large terrace overlooking the estuary. A lockable door connects it to the rest of the building. Additional guests can book the room(s) next door if necessary. It has a comfortable kingsize bed with reading lights, a sofa and two comfortable armchairs. We have recently added a woodburner for the colder months (all wood is supplied from our own trees). Bed linen is organic, fair trade, with blankets by Weaver Green, made from recycled bottles. The tap water is very nice to drink, and there is plenty of crockery in the kitchen. The large bathroom / wet room has a storage cupboard, walk in shower, bamboo & cotton towels, handmade shampoo and soap bars by the Clovelly Handmade Soap Company. We also leave a travel tin so that you can take your soaps home with you. The kitchen area has a large oak table and chairs, with microwave, toaster, sink, gas cooker and small fridge. During the winter months, we may ask you to use the gas cooker to heat water and to make toast! There is a USB charging point for mobiles etc, and lots of books, games and jigsaws – just in case….
SUITABLE FOR ALL
This suite has also been also been designed to accommodate most guests in a wheelchair or with mobility needs. The triple glazed, sliding door is slightly larger with a flat threshold, and the bathroom is large with a wheel in/walk in shower and lowered hand basin and shelf. Extra bathing help such as a shower stool, raised toilet seat and suction grab handles can be supplied on request. However, please note that the kitchen has not been adapted in any way.

We have sourced wool duvets, organic, fair trade linen, and blankets & rugs by Weaver Green – which are made from recycled bottles! Much of the other furniture is up-cycled: headboards are made from wooden flooring or cladding from the original barn, and the rooms are painted with Earthborn clay paints. USB charging points are provided along with a selection of books and games, maps, walking guides and binoculars. Outside there is a large, private terrace overlooking the river, with seating (cushions and blankets are also provided). There is also another seating area outside the entrance door (not so private) with tables, chairs and a firepit. This area gets the last of the evening sun.
