OUR BEAUTIFUL HANDMADE POD
Welcome to the ‘Look Out’
Welcome to the ‘Look Out’ our beautiful handmade Pod, built for us by Jake & team from @timelessspaces.
First things first – this is for those guests who are used to camping and all that it entails, but with the opportunity to explore an offgrid stay with quite a bit more comfort than camping normally provides!
It needs to be emphasised that booking this space is really for the relatively fit and active. There is one car parking space available half way up our driveway, but after that it is not only a walk uphill to the main building, but a further steep walk uphill to the Look Out. You will need to carry everything that you need. It is definitely worth it – the views are amazing! You are away and up above, but within easy reach of the Sanctuary.
There will also be some filling and emptying of water containers involved, and you may like to charge the solar battery from the panel on sunny days! If you have a pair of wellies its a good idea to bring them as the grass can be wet first thing in the morning, and maybe flip flops for summer months.
We also do not think it is suitable for dogs unfortunately, as we not not allow dogs on furniture, so there is not much space, and the Look Out is in open countryside with deer and other animals roaming and nowhere to leave a dog enclosed and off a lead.
Inside the pod, there is comfy king size bed with storage underneath, a table and two wicker chairs, a charnwood wood stove, with a starter pack of kindling, firelighters and logs, and there is a little unit with a single gas burner and tiny sink. There is also water and a power pack to charge devices. There are also lots of blankets, cushions, books and maps, plus two hammocks and a firepit just outside. There are battery lanterns, and small bar lights in the compost toilet and kitchen shelter.
There is a tiny handmade building next door with a compost toilet, plus water, washing bowl, soap, mirrow and hand towel.
There is also a 2m square kitchen shelter with a field kitchen: two gas burner hob, saucepans, plates, utensils, washing up bowl, water container, cool box and large box with a lid for safe food storage. The shelter has side openings in addition to the entrance door that have optional clear tent window blinds.
Back at the Sanctuary building there is a shower room, and a separate flushing toilet, and you are welcome to share the barbecue hut, pizza oven, picnic tables and outside sink, along with wandering through the 12 acres!
